Roofing & Restoration in Germantown, TN
Established neighborhoods, mature trees and a city that cares how a roof looks from the street. We build to match.
Roofing in Germantown
Germantown is Memphis's most established eastern suburb, and its housing reflects that: large brick homes on generous lots, most of them built between the 1970s and the late 1990s in the neighborhoods off Poplar Avenue, Germantown Road, Farmington Boulevard and Wolf River Boulevard. These are substantial houses with substantial roofs — multiple gables, dormers, valleys and chimneys — and many of them are now on their second or third roof. A house built in 1985 with a roof replaced in 2005 is due again, and the hail that comes through most springs tends to make the decision for the owner.
The city also has some of the most mature tree cover in the metro. That is a large part of why people live here, and it is a large part of our emergency work. Oaks and hickories that have stood for sixty years come down in straight-line wind, and a limb through a Germantown roof usually means structural repair as well as roofing, and a claim that needs to be scoped for both. We do the tarping, the framing, the roof and the interior as one job.
Germantown takes appearance seriously, at the city level and in its many homeowners' associations. Roof color and material choices are visible from the street and sometimes governed by covenant, and the city has its own permitting and inspection process through its Development department. We work within all of that: we bring samples to match the brick, we check the covenant where there is one, and we pull the Germantown permit as part of the job.

What we find on Germantown roofs
The most common Germantown job is a replacement on a large, complex roof that has reached twenty years. These roofs have a lot of valley and a lot of flashing, and the original installation frequently reused the flashing from the roof before it. When we tear one off, we replace every piece of flashing, re-detail the valleys with ice-and-water shield and rebuild the ventilation for the size of attic these homes have.
The second is hail. Germantown's roofs are large and its trees are not always in the way, and a spring hailstorm leaves bruising across a whole slope that is invisible from the driveway. Because the houses are valuable and the roofs expensive, getting the claim documented properly matters more here than almost anywhere. Insurance claim assistance is a large part of what we do in the city.
The third is water damage from roofs that were repaired instead of replaced for too long: stained ceilings in upstairs bedrooms, wet insulation over the garage, and mold in attics that were never ventilated for the insulation that was added later. Water damage restoration and the roof fix happen under one claim.

Germantown Roofing Questions
Yes. The City of Germantown permits and inspects roof replacement through its Development department, separately from Memphis and Shelby County. We pull the permit and schedule the inspection as part of the job.
Yes, and it is worth checking before we order materials. Many Germantown neighborhoods have covenants that govern roof color and sometimes material. We ask for the covenant up front, bring samples that comply, and can provide the product documentation an architectural review committee asks for.
Yes, honestly. A roof with many valleys, dormers, chimneys and pitch changes takes more flashing, more ice-and-water shield, more cutting and more time than a simple gable of the same square footage. We price it for what it actually takes to do properly, and we show you where the cost is. A complex roof done cheaply is the one that leaks.
Stay out from under it and call us. Limb removal from a roof needs to be done carefully so it does not do more damage on the way off, and the decking and framing beneath need to be checked before anyone trusts the roof. We tarp, document for the claim, and scope the structural repair alongside the roofing.
Often, yes. On a large roof the cost of a hail claim, the deductible and the disruption are all bigger, and Class 4 shingle takes the hail that comes through most springs without damage. Some insurers discount the premium for it. We price it alongside standard architectural shingle and let you decide.
Our office is in Whitehaven on the south side of Memphis, about twenty-five to thirty minutes from most of Germantown. We work in the city regularly, and storm calls and active leaks are prioritized regardless of distance.
What Mid-South Homeowners Say
Real reviews from our Google listing, quoted word for word. The listing still shows our former name, Q3 Contractors — same owner, same crews, same phone number.
“I can't say enough good things about Q3 Contractors. What started out as a stressful and frustrating situation turned into a smooth, successful project-thanks entirely to their expertise and dedication. Initially, my insurance company denied the claim for my storm-damaged roof, saying it wasn't severe enough to warrant coverage. I felt stuck and unsure of what to do next. That's when Trey of Q3 Contractors stepped in and completely changed the game. They did a thorough inspection, documented all the damage with detailed photos. Their knowledge of roofing and how insurance works was incredible. They knew exactly what to look for and how to present the evidence properly. Because of their efforts, the insurance company reversed their decision and ended up covering the entire roof replacement! The installation itself was just as impressive-professional, timely, and high quality. The crew was respectful, worked quickly, and left everything clean when the job was done. My new roof looks amazing and gives me total peace of mind. If you're dealing with insurance headaches or just want a company that truly goes to bat for you, I highly recommend Q3 Contractors. They went above and beyond for me, and I'm truly grateful.”
